Hungary cenbank raises growth programme scope by $1.6 bln
BUDAPEST, April 6 (Reuters) – The National Bank of Hungary said on Tuesday it had raised the scope of its latest cheap loans programme to 3 trillion forints ($9.86 billion) from 2.5 trillion to help post-pandemic recovery.
The bank said it has already booked more than 2 trillion forints worth of applications for the loans, which have funded more than 31,000 Hungarian small and medium enterprises.
The bank, which has supported the growth policies of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, has placed a total of 5.4 trillion forints worth of loans in its broad funding for lending programme, launched in 2013.
